Podiatry United Kingdom

The practice of podiatry , also called Chiropody in the uk is in an exceedingly different situation to Podiatric practice in every other country. In the past there was the registered and unlicensed areas. The licensed sectors typically got a university certification whilst the unregistered group have a short certification like program. The unlicensed group cannot function in the National health service. Quite a few years in the past, both sectors were brought collectively beneath the Health Profession Council and have been the sole groups who can call themselves podiatrists or chiropodists. After that happened, only those with the proper University certification could register. This resulted in totally new profession which call themselves Foot Health Practitioners as a way to get around the new laws. Podiatry in the UK is evolving.
